Going to list my 18-55 wr kit lens with Calumet circ polariser and Haida ND filter.

Any tips for pricing in NZ?

Have checked it all over and is in perfect condition. Only selling as have now acquired the 16-85mm.

I just tend to run with what I'd like for buy now, and what I'd stand for reserve & start. With very clear information about postage.

The exact pricing of that kit, not a lot, I'd expect $100-150 or so - most people have an 18-55 already. (the non waterproof is more like 50-100 max). It really does come down to what you write in the description.

I'd be inclined to leave out the filters and just include a clear glass protection filter, they won't add what they're worth, and most people won't either need or appreciate them.

Id tend to agree with Sqrrl, DA 18-55mm $50-100 in good condition, with Lens hood, but just a cheap protection filter would be ok, most don't care for C-PLs & NDs

Happy New Year guys
best way to sell an 18-55 is on a body, makes cameras easier to move
The WR is a nice little crop option though so yep $1-150

Here's something you photographic types might know. Is there such a thing as a plastic film neutral density filter? I.e. a sheet of — ideally static cling — film that I can cut to shape and affix to things to attenuate the light coming from them.

Best match I can find online initially is window tinting film, but have not found a local stockist of these.

Sweet, thanks. I'm a wee bit confused by the names/numbers. I would have thought "1 stop" would attenuate half the light, but it's also labelled 0.3ND which suggests it attenuates 30%?

It's a different measuring system, it's looking at optical density rather than stops.

Have a look here;

All good, thanks for taking a look back. Your images look great, in what's a pretty tricky situation to get good results. Well done and thanks for sharing.

Good to see that the HD coating has effectively dealt with the flare from the magical blasts!

I think you misunderstand how Pentax lenses work. Many of them are covered in pixie dust, and hence often cause the magical blasts that Rich has recorded

Maybe I rubbed the pixie dust off mine while I was giving it a good rub with an oily rag...

Potentially, especially if you were rubbing the front and back lenses with your oily rag...
