All the best for the trip GUB.

I have a bunch of silica packs scattered throughout my camera bags. Purchased a bunch from China and just threw them in there. Small attempt to avoid lens mould and fungus.

Tata beach, Golden Bay. Tamron 17-50 first outing, happy. Siggie 17-70 (stabilised version) about to go, don't need both anymore.

It was a bit noisy over Blenheim today.

I had a bit of adjusting to the big Tamron for aircraft. It was ideal for this one, but for the prop driven aircraft, the lens is almost too fast. I had to stop down to F8 at ISO100 to get some prop movement, as otherwise the lens was giving way too high a shutter speed.
I actually didn't take that many photos as most of the aircraft I've seen before, and once I have a good image of a particular aircraft, I don't feel the need to keep photographing it repeatedly.

Had a grand time in Singapore. I didn't spend nearly as much time behind the camera as I had imagined I would, but still came away with nearly 800 photos — they'll take me quite some time to keyword, sift, process, and publish. I did get a few out while I was still away (through a convoluted process involving an iPad, cloud storage, and a Mac back at home). This is my favourite.

Thanks. No, not with the camera. It rarely got used straight away on arriving anywhere. The missus did have a problem with her glasses, though. We waited in the heavily air-conditioned hotel lobby one morning for a bus and the moment she stepped outside — foop! — she couldn't see a thing. It only took a minute or two to clear, though.
