Sighhhh - it has been a reasonably expensive trip to the lady with the camera collection.
But one has got me grinnin from ear to ear to ear. An Auto-Takumar 35mm 2.3. The glass is pristine - body is fine but not mint.
And an Auto tak 105mm 2.8. This is the earliest version with the 4 elements.
Now have my 4th sup tak 50mm 1.4 8 element. And a S-M-C Tak 50mm 1.4 for good measure.
And a handful of other mixed bags.

Having coffee there - screwed the Auto tak 35mm onto the K-1 and -- first shot. You can see even my fellow photographers think I am mad!.
60 year old lens wide open.
And spot the camera on the table - it is for sale.

Sounds like a pretty good haul to me

I have a 105 AutoTak somewhere in the loft, I think it was attached to a S2 that I bought about ten years ago in the first flush of antique Pentax collecting!

Haven't had a go with this one yet but the sup tak ones have a special portrait quality - something about skin tones I think. The later ones are 5 elements - this one is 4 - it is going to be interesting to compare them.

Yes this 105 has the same feel as the later ones. This is colour set to natural and unchanged in post. But if I brighten it the colours go sort of overboosted. The 105s have a distinctly different feel to the other taks. I think that is what makes them good portrait lenses.

Well 20 years later Gubs 105 auto tak put on a bit of girth to end the line with the SMC "K" 105/2.8

I'm a bit pushed for great models but you canna have everything

Yeah got one of them as well as a couple of sup tak ones. haven't used it much but I felt it was a bit different in result (less unusual). But then I tend to prefer the less coated lenses anyway. Must do a comparative test of them.
Going back to help the lady tidy up her lenses tomorrow. Two or three of us have gotta guess which are the more valuable ones. One thing is sure the Hasselblad is worth heaps - we are thinking 1500 to 2000.
Been watching TM and the occasional TLR is getting bids but I don't know what they are looking for. Is it unusual types or particularly mint and/or working ones.? (yeah i know the Rolleiflex is worth heaps.)
Even the occasional fold out roll film one gets a bid now and then.

Yeah the late 105 hasn't really done anything for me.
Must be user error...Leaving it on the K-1 for a while.

Took the dog to the beach (Castlepoint) yesterday. Managed to find a brief break in the weather after which it bucketed down again.

The "new" 35-105mm lens seems sharp and reproduces natural colours beautifully. (The lens that came with the NOS SFXn)
