I have the K 24, 28 and 35 all at f3.5 - they are a nice set of manual focus lenses to use now and again, quite compact.

I have a few M series lenses, I think you have to pick the right models for good results. The M*300/4 is a beast
So you have been doing a bit of collecting too Ross!! My K200 f4 is a cracker but then too so is my M42 one. I pass over the M series ones all the time. I also tend to pass on the M42 200 3.5 unless I am specifically going for shallow dof

Yes, indeed.
I have a CZJ 50 2.8 but I am not fussed on it. Probably a case of too many fifties. I find its bokeh a bit fussy and characterless.

There is no doubt about that GUB, although I have buttoned off with the collecting a lot lately, as I have picked up most of the lenses I was looking for.

Thanks for the confirmation about the K200 f4, my research had shown it is a very good lens. There don't seem to be that many about, but I am prepared to be patient - no rush there, and I am looking to pick up one in near mint condition if I can.

One of the nice parts of the Pentax system is I can use the old lenses on my LX for film shooting as well as with the newer digital cameras, without needing to phaff about with adaptors - really good utility.

Yeah I am the same. But still buying the occasional quirky lens occasionally tho. Paid fairly heavily for a Zenitar 16mm M42 the other day but I am quite impressed with it.
Still not tempted with modern glass. Got a F 135 a while back - as new as it gets for me.

As long as you are enjoying it GUB.

So many people on camera forums and camera news sites seem to be completely unhappy with their gear and their photography.

Give me a quirky old manual focus lens and a camera and I will happily play and see what can be achieved, or use my Zeiss and Voigtlander manual focus 'A' series lenses that meter nicely on the Pentax DLSR's and give stunning images. I enjoy that.

Now, if I could just be a little less busy at work, and make some more time for photography, life would be in a better balance...

Interesting. I'll have to have a play with mine. I don't recall the bokeh being fussy.

There's some crazy bidding going on. I'll watch from the sidelines.

I haven't used my M28/f2.8 for years; the aperture ring got so sloooooooow to return to full aperture. Still use my A28/f2.8 occasionally.

Less work equals less dollars equals less lenses.

Although I am always interested in some of the lenses that cross my path, I have other hobbies that are higher up my list for spending. I have, however, lucked into some great lenses that I now enjoy. An FA 50 that came with the KP body, and the M 200 gifted to me by awa355. Then again, I did score the Tamron 90 and F 35-70 off Trade Me. But I don't think I qualify for LBA yet.

Nah. More than one's good because I could give my daughter one without feeling torn in half.
