Hey Class A ; RE
"Ultimate Camera just Launched
Today the ultimate camera, the James Webb telescope, has been launched.

Twenty-five years and US$10 billion in the making, the James Webb telescope will allow us to look 13.5 billion years back in time to unravel more mysteries of the universe.

Go Webb."

TV1 news tonight on Dawn Aerospace -one of our new space initiatives. Video of a technician tightening a fluid line connector with an adjustable wrench!! Only in NZ !!
I can remember my father growling me for using one bleeding our Ford tractor injectors. And it wasn't sub orbital!
It looked like a cheap chinese one too -- could just see rough cast "drop forged" on the handle.

It seems like I've missed the Christmas greetings as I've been off in the wilds of North Canterbury, doing battle with blackberry, and having fun and games with Dad's Fred Dagg Land Rover.
We even saw a deer on the riverbed.
It's a precious time as Dad's pretty frail, and his dementia can limit things, but it's been amazing the bonding over gathering a load of firewood. Who would have thought a chainsaw and a Land Rover would be such good memory aids?
It's a bit of a dilemma really. Dad's frail, and Mum isn't coping well, but what rest home caters for rural people?
Since I missed Christmas greetings, I'll get in advance and wish everyone a happy New Year.

This is your annual reminder if, like me, you set your RAW filenames by year. Tomorrow I will be changing my prefix from KP21 to KP22. I think this year I will also reset the file number.

A belated Happy New Year to all. I was processing some rubbish pics of the comet at the time, and missed it.

AND time to update the copyright metadata, to 2022, in whatever program you use for your images.

Plus remember your backups.

Not a new photo but a previously unpublished one I came across from my Singapore trip while reorganising my library a bit. The only photo I took at Jurong Bird Park that did not have a bird in it. It's common names are Powder Puff Plant, Pink Powder-puff, or Pink Tassel-flower. The scientific name is Calliandra surinamensis. I think it looks like something out of a Dr. Seuss book.

Three years ago I created a calendar product to sell on Zazzle which featured my photos of airliners. Zazzle have just emailed me stating that they are "not licensed to sell or produce unauthorized merchandise of Qantas, Emirates and others." The only definition I can find for merchandise in this context is "branded products used to promote a film, pop group, etc., or linked to a fictional character; merchandising." I would contend that a calendar featuring my own photos of airliners in publicly accessible places is not intended to promote anything and nor is it branded with any airlines.

Are they right? (Notwithstanding it remained on sale without issue for three years.)
