Depends on the cafe...

how far is the cafe from the boat dock?

The Second Cup is 4 feet from the boat dock *on the mainland side* but the cafes on the island side are further from the docks.

Gravity Cafe (coffe, snacks, sandwiches at lunch) is about 50m from the Ward's Island dock, and the Rectory Cafe is a bit further from the Ward's dock to the west (across from the Algonquin Island Bridge).

You're probably thinking of the Centre Island dock. Centreville, its restaurants, and that dock are closed due to the strike. The replacement ferries only go to Ward's Island on the east end, and it really doesn't look like the strike will be over by tomorrow (but no strikers at the docks this AM!).

That's too bad, Dave - the weather is supposed to be excellent!

(Actually, a great day to test those weathersealed lenses and bodies, and my all-weather Kata bag.)

If the weather becomes unbeareable outdoors we can alway step into Queens Quay or one of the cafes on the waterfront or the island. It does look like rain gear will be appropriate for at least part of the day.

I'll be there at 1:00 PM. I'm looking forward to meeting up with the "more weather resistant" Pentaxians!

Weather radar at YTZ says overcast, but no (heavy) precipitation.

Just realised it's a 12pm meet, i thought it was 1pm. Pouring down here, just pouring. I might give it a miss sadly, i could REALLY do with the walk in fresh air.

K100D can you PM me your cell in case i do find my way in and i'll call you to find the group. Thanks.

Seems to be clearing south downtown. the front seems to be moving north, so it looks as if it is clearing south.

I'm gonna head down to 2nd cup / quay. by the time I get there it should be more apparent!
