Sounds like fun! At this point (3rd post) that is a 33.3% chance of turning my k20d into a backup

Bump for the TC locals and a little more detail:

For those going to attend, the event will be held in the "Woodlands Ballroom" located next to the Lobby and Bar.

From my understanding this will be an informal event. So please show up witih your gear and we'll all drool over the cool new camera, lenses and talk shop From what I've been told there will be sodas not that the presence of soda should be the main draw... The hilton property is just south of the to main runways for the airport so we can all try to take pictures of planes flying in and out of the airport.

That sounds awesome. I hope they're a huge success for you and Pentax and that you make it to, or close to, Charlotte someday.

So, are forum nametags going to be in order then? I am excited for tonight! Can't wait for a hands on (would like to give a 60-250 a whirl as well, here's hoping there will be one attending), except my wife won't be happy if history repeats itself (I was happily enjoying my k10d then bam, hands on with the k20 and it magically appeared about a month later).

Was there, I got to see and touch the K-7! I didn't expect it to be so small, although my K-m is smaller. I was overwhelmed by the amount of buttons on the K-7 compared to my K-m. It was funny because one guy was asking "Is the JPEG 8-bit?" And the presenter was like "I think it can take 12-bit JPEG" Great presentation, the HDR came out a bit funny too when they were sampling it. Hahaha, guess it wasn't the best place and time to do HDR. One of the presentation lady that was a photographer said "I better not see that on ebay tomorrow" Hahha! Well congratulations to the dude that won. I wish I would of won! But who wouldn't? Think I was the only one carrying a K-m/K2000 also.

The guy who won it had a *istD, so it's quite an upgrade for him!

Impressive camera, I have to say. Also really liked the DA 15ltd and the 55 1.4.

Nice meeting some of you folks!
