Possible SoCal meetup

Is anybody in Southern California interested in getting together? I was thinking of making it a semi regular thing, maybe at one of the camera shows?

I'm interested as well. I live in LA proper, but I think that meeting at one of the photo shows is a good idea, like PMA in Anaheim:

I guess PMA is not an option now.

You can come join in a monthly get together with this photogroup in SD San Diego DSLR Photography Group

There are several Pentax shooters who regularly go including a few who post to this board.

You definitely should. Keep on eye on that web site and see what shoot is being planned. Typically anywhere from 10-30 people will show up for a shoot (usually ~20) and its usually in a pretty cool location. Out of the 20 people probably 4 will be shooting Pentax with everything from an IR converted *ist to the kx and k-7.

The group is mostly avid hobbyists but there are a couple of professionals in the ranks - but of course a few of the hobbyists in the group rank among some of the better photographers I have seen depending on subject matter.

The Admin for that board (Shadzee on this forum) is a Pentax shooter.

I am a new user to this board, and just ordered my KX the other day. I am expecting it to arrive sometime this week. After I get acquainted with it, I would love to meet up with a few people for a photo shoot or just a chat session about how to get the most from my photography.

I will definitely look up that photogroup, but would also be happy to meet up with anyone else in the area!

i live in the OC area.. more like Irvine, Tustin, Santa Ana..

I'm pretty noob but if there is a possible meetup close, ill be sure to ride my bike down to the spot and learn something.

Hi everybody,
I wish I found this post before....I live in Alhambra and I'm willing to travel if anybody is interested in getting together for a project, I like all kind of photography, I am new too but willing to learn, I shoot with the k-20 and k-x. I am also a member of APSOCAL.COM wich is a group dedicated to aviation photography(in which everybody shoots with Cannon and Nikon)

Hope to hear from any of you...

Going to Washington DC and Gettysburg/Antietam/Harpers Ferry on Monday for a week. Yay!

Would consider a get together sometime after. Ideas include...

Griffith observatory, day or evening. Overview of LA, hike up the hilltop for view, shoot the observatory itself, tour the inside, etc. Parking is a bit iffy, though, and could be a bit of a walk. It's free.
