the new DA* lenses intrigue me highly.

If the IQ is as good as with the DA*55, I think I may have to save my pennies.
However, if the SDM is not improved over the DA*55's speed... I may have to pass.
The F/2 aperture is not super fast, but if the new Pentax bodies can clean up their noise then we may have winners (or artsy noisy photos!).

Looks good, though. the 645D looks like an exciting prospect of a camera.

let's aim for 7:15pm or so? I will be around town this weekend to see just how crazy it will be. then we can figure out where to meet and such!

can we do it at a much earlier time? like lunchtime perhaps? I need to get back before 8:30 pm.

hey pentaxor... unfortunately, I will not be off until about 5pm.

I could meet with some people at 5pm for an early walkabout somewhere (or just play with each other's lenses. haha) and then have another meet at 7:15pm.

But for now, I'll set the official time at 7:15pm.

I think that would be ok. seems enough time from 5 to 8pm. too bad the FA135 from Peter can't make it on time.

I guess I'll be using the FA100 instead and the FA50/1.7.

Canada customs has had my lens for a week... and I just scored tickets to wms snowboard cross...

Can you rent a fast telephoto in Van?

Only place I can think of is Leos.
North Shore. They have a sigma 50-500

There's a Leos Camera on Granville street. They rent a whole ton of lenses.

I'm looking for a lens RENTAL not a DIVORCE!! (what do you call a break up when your engaged.. dissengaged?) I was actally hoping to rent a big prime, but Leo's doesn't have! Its either a BIGMA or the 50-135mm... grrr
