I'll second the swag. But the comraderie and the laughes are worth the while as well. I've made some really great friends in the community by attending these events.

I just seriously hope I can swing it this year. My life won't be complete if I can't . Are we any closer to nailing down a date? I've got some seriously busy times ahead and have to juggle teaching summer camp with my regular job and making up hours missed from teaching on the weekends.

I'm with Mel--we need to move on nailing down the where and when. I think Mike's proposed location sounds good. An alternative might be Harper's Ferry: think Potomac River and Civil War battlefields. But, really, the most important thing is setting the date. As I recall, there was some sort of polling process last year and it worked pretty well.

I've got tentative approval from the Missus. I think that Harper's Ferry would also be a good option since you'd have the civil war town as well as the Shenandoah River and surrounding area.

I'm assuming we're talking about the week-end of 6/26-27--is that right?
Are we agreed on 6/26-7 or do we need to consider alternatives?

June 25-27 sounds good to me. Don't forget Friday evening Dave...

And I like the idea of Harper's Ferry as a backup target. Ricketts Glen is spectacular, but it is a 4 hour+ haul from the DC/Baltimore area.

Harper's ferry will be 4 hours for me anyway. I vote for Appomattox Court house and The beautiful Crabtree falls

Final Decision time

Ok, sorry all about being distant, I had 2 cars break on me leaving me w/o transport etc etc and work has been hella-busy

Ok so here are the good dates now that I have all my stuff nailed down:
A) June 11-13
B) June 18-21
C) July 9-11
D) July 23-25
Looking like the front-runner

(Sorry) my original dates got screwed, kinda hard to turn down photoing a $$$$$$ wedding for a friend offer (unless you all want to come shoot it its on MD's Eastern Shore) and the 4th just wasn’t going to pan out (the misses put an end to that one

2 Places have ironed themselves out:
A) Rickets Glen in Northern Pa (with help from MRRiley)
B) Harpers Ferry

I need everyone to pick 2 dates and 1 place.

SIGMA is Confirmed, Kingston may be on-board again too (last year they sent a 4 GB SD card for everyone
Once a date/place is picked I will also post this on Pentax's Facebook, see if we can draw a few more.
As always ANYONE is welcome despite their inferior Camera brands lol (1 canon and 1 nikon user converted so far)
Russ (the bird guy) may be in!
More Swag on the way!, Camaraderie always A+++

July 23-25 is pretty much the only one of those options I could make (and preserve my marriage ;~)

Any of the venues would be great but my preference is Rickets Glen.

Sounds like a hoot

I'd like to attend as well, depending on "life" of course. When is the deadline for RSVP or whatever? Hey I'm with Vaughn..........APPAMATTOX! HA! I'd love to photograph Gettysburg about an hour before daylight..........and hope for light morning ground fog. DANG.........I'm already visualizing stuff!!!!!!! Keep me posted for the finalized meetup and itenerary.

A) June 11-13 - have other commitments this weekend
B) June 18-21 - 2nd Choice
C) July 9-11 - A definite NO GO (Day Job intruding) so if this date and Ricketts Glen are chosen you'll be guideless
D) July 23-25 - Best Dates

Ricketts Glen is my first choice, but Harper's Ferry and the area could be fun too (though we will probably have to do more driving between shoots).

Crabtree IS beautiful (the climb darn near killed me though... LOL)! Check out some shots of it from last summer... https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/post-your-photos/69416-selection-waterfal...mountains.html

It's really nice in the winter! I used to ice climb there in my younger days. Any date except (A) would work for me.

Prefer Harper's Ferry, I doubt I'd be able to make it to Pa. I'm not sure about HF yet but it looks good so far.
