Either side is good, but it depends on the type of shots you want. Did you want the typical redbull shot with the city in the background or not? Also I think the coarse is closer to south Perth, but I don't think its enough to make much difference.

So for myself personally I'll be taking riverside drive so I don't have the cities buildings in the background and access to the pits.

Well strangely enough my Mum wants to go, but my girlfriend doesn't... I was thinking of going to the north side.

I went to south perth in the last red bull air race and you are right, most of my shots are with the city as the background...kinda boring.

I thnk i will stay at the riverside drive so i can take shots of planes taking off and landing. i dont' think i will wait till 4:30pm to gain access to the pit bit we will see.

Brazilian Adilson Kindlemann, Redbull are saying they are respecting his privacy so not much news about his condition.

I'm up for meeting up, how about 10:30, East side of Barrack St Jetty? Or maybe a bit closer to the air strip?

Google News suggests only minor injuries and he's in good condition. There's pics (albeit obscured somewhat) of the moment of impact on the Sydney Morning Herald:

I should be up for that meeting time and place too.

My 2 longest lenses are the DA 55-300 and M 400 so I will bring both of those, and a monopod.

I'll be taking the 100-300 and a 400 MF (that should be interesting).

How about narrowing it down to the section across from the end of Governors Ave (map attached). Last time on Saturday I don't recall this being too crowed.
