What to choose? Pentax DA 17-70mm or Tamron 17-50mm.

I have decided to buy a normalzoom, the Pentax DA17-70mm f/4 or Tamron 17-50mm f/2.8???

Both are good lenses. Have some of you compared IQ?

If I buy the DA17-70mm I will keep FA35/2 and maybe buy Tamron 90mm f/2.8 macro

If I buy Tamron 17-50mm I will probably also buy Sigma 50-150mm f/2.8 HSM.

Q: Will the new PENTAX DA 1.4X TC SDM work with all DA lenses? Will it work with DA 17-70mm f/4 = 24-98mm f/5.6?

I have sold my DA 70mm and one flash, trying to sell FA 35 and FA50mm.

Reason for selling fast and good primes:
I take my dSLR(s) with me when I'm outdoors with my dog, I usually only bring Sigma SD-14 + 17-70mm with me, because of the 17-70mm zoom. It's easy compared to having to deal with all those primes.

If you buy the Tamron 17-50 then you need something longer, like the DA 70 , which you already sold. Now getting Pentax 17-70 doesn't make sense either because you already have the Sigma 17-70. If I were you I would just keep what I have and keep my money.

Sigma is in SA mount (for SD14) so it's not usable on either Pentax body. I'd say to buy Pentax for the longer range and SDM. Photozone's review was very positive and I don't see how you can go wong.

I have made an offer at PD2000 on the DA 17-70mm.

Is there any problems or weaknesses with the SDM motor? I have bought all my Pentax lenses from PD2000 or Hong Kong, no problems yet. But I am worried about the SDM. We have some of the best consumer laws here i Norway, so maybe it's worth spending the extra 170USD and buy it here in Norway?

I compared DA 17-70mm with Tamron 17-50mm and DA*16-50mm
I have owned the DA 16-45mm A good lens, but I didn't like that it was
extended at 16mm and normal at 45mm. They fixed that with 17-70mm

I went crazy today and bought myself two brand new lenses with four years of "dumbass" insurance

(if I brake them, I will get a new lens or get it repaired).

DA 17-70mm f/4 and DA* 50-135mm f/2.8 is in my camerabag as soon as I unpack them

1898,- USD for both lenses with insurance.
