Pentax 645D images!

A few days ago my 645D body and the 55mm lens arrived. I've put up smaller images on my blog and have also uploaded full size JPEGS to Flickr so you can see what the camera can do.

After shooting with the Pentax 67II system for the last 8 years digital is quite a learning experience. I am however very pleased with the results.

Studio Portrait with 645D

I thought I would put up one more full resolution portrait image for you to check out. This time it's from a model test shoot and I have put up the full untouched out of camera jpegs on Flickr.

You can view the full size jpeg on Flickr here

Studio Shoot - Jessica (645D full size Jpeg) on Flickr - Photo Sharing!

If you're interested you can read up more about the shoot on my blog here:

Studio Shoot – Jessica (Part 1) Chris Willson's Blog

A few extra bits of information for fellow photographers. This was lit from top right with a beauty dish that was gridded with a diffuser over the face of the dish. There was a reflector bottom left.

As I've said before I will try and get a landscape shot soon, along with a long exposure shot. A little busy at the moment but I will get them done eventually!

OMG that resolution is actually ridiculous. That's so insane that even people with extreme psychosis think this camera is crazy.

I'm impressed, really impressed.

How much is my left kidney worth? I've looked after it, should be enough to get me one of these, yeah?

Great photographs Chris! The resolution is just amazing. This greatly humbles my K100D Super :-P

Very cool, Chris. I now defintely want one.

How's your feeling with just 1/125s sync in the studio? And: did you check out your 67 lenses, yet, with an adapter? That would be nice to see, too.
I wouldn't want to sell my 67 beauties...

Just read your blog about the lenses. Sound sgreat. Made a decision, yet, which lens is best for portraits? I have the 100 macro, it's absolutely lovely cos you can get so very close, but the 105mm has a nicer bokeh. What do you think?

Hello Chris from Kerrick James

Lovely quality, obviously, and I'm thrilled you are making the jump into digital at last, albeit on the high end! Have you tested any other lenses on your 645D than the new 55mm SDM design? Like you, I have a full range of 67 optics and when I get to test the 645D I want to find out what works best. I'll have to locate a 67-645 adapter, obviously. I'm looking forward to making a 40X60 from the 40MB captures possible now.

All best,

Kerrick James
