Hi, I'm new here and to the 645N, I've had a lot of systems including a TLR. I know this has been answered but I can't locate the responses. i just bought a beautiful 645N but I'm confused on the film loading in a 120 insert. So when loading film is the "Empty take up spool" located on the top or bottom of the insert? I installed a roll using the manual with the Black film edges on the outside and that showed the Start Arrow across the film paper matching it up to the "S". When installed in the camera all seems well. My curiousity got to me and I took the insert out. I expected to see raw film facing outward on the pressure plate, I could see where the paperback and film are seperate but if i loaded it correctly wouldn't the paper backing be on the pressure plate and bare film facing out which would be inward toward the lens when installed!

I really appreciate the help. I'm even confusing myself.

Thanks Mike, I was lucky in that the camera came with the pentax manual. I was thinking back some 40 years ( ouch!) and my first camera was a Pentax Spotmatic, That was a great camera and I'm looking forward to using the 645! I was shooting a mamiya 330 tlr so thats why i got myself so confused. top vs. bottom etc
