P645 Digi back

Hello, I saw a post in a google search showing a digital back for a P645, it was made in China or was for sale only in China, I think it was 15mp. With the huge size of the sensor on a 645 back there would be No noise at 15 mp as the pixel's would have plenty of room to be spread out.

Does anyone here know anything aboutt a digital back for a 645. I really cant afford a 645d was just curious if there are any options to campture digital with a 645 without buying the new D model

I'm pretty sure there is no digital back for the Pentax 645.
If you aren't doing so already, you should just shoot film and get a decent scanner ( I bought an Epson V500 for $150) and you can get great 20+ megapixel scans. Even with the costs of film, developing, and scanner, it would take years to equal the cost of any digital back. Plus you get great variety with all the different films available.

There were several rumors on the Web about 18 months ago about a made-in-China digital insert for the 645. Nothing of substance ever surfaced. You have to ask yourself how it was supposed to work. After all, what is going to tell the back when the shutter is open/shut so that it can capture and process the image?

The Mamiya DM Series Digital Backs are very expensive, however you can use film backs as well. I just thought there would be a way to do it on a p 645

Also I saw Community > Forums > Medium Format > Pentax 645 > It's available a digital back for Pentax 645 on photo.net forums, "Digital backs are being sold here (in China) for the 645. The digital back is called Super Image. "

I was just looking at all options.

Ah, I remember that thread and even seeing a picture of the back. IIRC, it only worked on the 645NII. Don't expect the sensor to be full 645 size, though--the only thing close to that, currently, of which I am aware is the Phase One P65+.

That one is easy, flash sync socket can help.

You can imagine also something more sofisticated with a light sensors that measure when the shutter opens (provided there is a second shutter dial on the back)

Anyway, given the price of a MF sensor (or even FF) such a setup wouldn't make much sense, I feel that someone would bother with so much manual tuning only if the back would cost 1-2 K/$...
