Dave, that was a favour I will not soon forget. !Muchas gracias senor! I purchased the 80-160 plus a macro lens 135/4.0 LS, a very fine specialised lens for a ridiculously low price. I look forward to visitig NJ and my cousin who is doing well with her second battle with cancer. I will look in on you and for sure I will bring my camera and it would be great to go on a field shoot with you.

Cheers,

RJ
Can't wait, my friend.

Hello Dave,

Just joined the forum as I now have a 645D and am desparately seeking a copy of an English manual. I apologize for adding yet another request for the manual but I don't read Japanese.

I actually have my camera in hands but had to order from a friend of mine in Japan and while the camera is quite intuitive, I really need a manual. My email address is : hugo4471@charter.net.

Hopefully, you are still willing and able to send and I thank you, in advance, for your generosity.

Kind Regards,

Hugo

Hugo: My email lately is choking, and freezing up with attachments. I tried sending you the file. You may get it twice, or not at all. If you do not get it, let me know, and I will try again.
Good luck with the 645D!!!!

I am willing as I did with the first one, but don't want to spend all my time sending emails with attacments as my friend Dave Gurchef has. I would ask the forum gurus if they would allow me to post it here on the forums server. Scanning it is a huge amount of work, and the second manual is much larger than the first one I scanned.

If PENTAX forums will set up a folder for me to store this file, then I will scan it and not have to knock myself out as Dave has done with all the emailing.

I've got space and bandwidth and could host it for you if you want.

Thanks for you, thanks for Dave.
If you will make the scan and send it to my address: managger76@gmail.com
I can send it to everybody, as Dave
And of`course I can share it at some free server, where everybody can download it.

The most problems are, that some people want to read manual before deciding to buy 645D, and some people have already bought camera from Japan, with Japanese books.
That`s why your help - is very useful for all the community.

This will be the cure-all fix. I think everyone looking for these reference manuals would be in for a long wait given the recent events in Japan, that would go for lenses etc. too. Thank you Jeff for the kind gesture. I think Dave deserves a well earned rest from all the emailing he is doing. I do not want to get into the same, when a better alternative could be made by simply posting it where it is available to all by simply downloading.

I sent you a PM with my email address. I've already got the first part from Dave, so can get them both up in a day or two and then post links to them.

Aaah! You touched a soft spot. I can't imagine trying to learn all the features of this camera without the operating manual. I will start the scanning today, can't estimate how long it will take, but will get back to you when it's finished.

That's quite the site Dmitry! I'm sure it will generate a lot of traffic, and maybe some will remember to download the manual.

Glad I could help and now anyone can get the manual without having to impose on one person.

You guys deserve a medal! Thank you.
Need a little help:
I down loaded the PDF, and apparently the original is in color (my guess is blue on white). When I print out via my laser B&W printer, the pages are very faint, in some instances unreadable. Can I somehow set up the PDF file to print in black and white so it is darker? I probaly am overlooking something simple.
Thanks in advance
Dave
