I down loaded the PDF, and apparently the original is in color (my guess is blue on white). When I print out via my laser B&W printer, the pages are very faint, in some instances unreadable. Can I somehow set up the PDF file to print in black and white so it is darker? I probaly am overlooking something simple.

Yes Dave it's blue on white. Sounds like your printer is the problem. I would copy the files to a CD and have a friend or print shop print them on a colour laser printer

Dave I downloaded from both sites and the JWJohnson site is a wee bit faster. I printed test pages in both colour and greyscale, both were very clear, the colour being a fraction better.

It has been suggested I update this thread to tell all that there are two sites to get the manual, at the tail end of this thread. I do not know how to get this post back to the start of the thread to read this. One site is here:

I can never thank you enough for the manuals, I have tried to get them from Pentax both here in England , America and Japan. No luck .I have used Pentax cameras ever since they introduced the spotmatic H , but the nearest thing to perfection is the 645D,with my first shots I though I was back using Kodachrome 25. No guessing how long I'm at it.
