I agree it would be nice to have live view. Fortunately for me I have good vision and am usually able to manually focus pretty well. It's the most difficult on lenses like my 645 200mm A, as it's a telephoto so infinity focus is usually a touch back from being cranked all the way to far focus...I've missed focus on a couple of shots using that lens, but I don't use it very often, so it's not a huge deal. It cost me $100 and is razor sharp, so I can't complain!

I have no D but word is that the 35 and 120mm A-versions are certainly no poor performers on the 645D. I do remember however that you found accurate focus with the FA 200mm hard to achieve—perhaps that's the effect of the D, or perhaps another focus screen is necessary!
