it does depend on what you need. If you can do without autofocus, some A-lenses are equivalent to their FA counterparts (75mm, 120mm, 45-85mm, 80-160mm, 300mm). They can be had much cheaper, although perhaps not as cheap as two years ago.
The relative merits of the A 35mm vs FA 35mm on 645D are still unclear to me.
And the only reason I sold my 3.5/150mm was the acquisition of the FA 2.8 version, otherwise I was delighted with its performance.
