645D + 67 300mm ED

For anyone interested in 67 lenses on a 645D. I posted this on Luminous Landsccpe as well, because I'm amazed at this combination. Taken in a country graveyard on the shore of a frozen Lake Erie. Performance of the lens is remarkable, really it might need a better sensor, or at least a bigger one; crop is actual pixels.

Sweet. Thanks for the post. Now that lens is really touchy to shoot on my 67 for me. I've even tried locking open the camera's shutter with that special mode with the lens covered then uncover and did long exposures with ND filter just to avoid the 67's shutter shake.

Thanks Tuco. Yea, the shutter on the 67 is something we've all had to deal with. With the 67 and 300mm, I use a heavy, old aluminum Gitzo. I press down on the legs and pull the camera strap to the left (opposite of shutter motion) and rest my chin on the camera body. Seems to work, but I probably look a little silly.

Never thought of the chin technique. No matter what lens, I hang my camera bag on the tripod often and always put my hand on top of the camera and press down unless it is a long exposure which I do a lot. But I've had this idea of making a sandbag type thing to set on top instead of my hand to provide some damping if that would work.
