Hi Leo,
Welcome to the forum. As you note, the V700/V750 have a working resolution of about 2300-2400 dpi. I was just wondering if you realized that this is a long-dormant thread?

That being said, it is possible to do the math to get the number of megapixels from a 6x7cm negative at 2300 dpi with the Epson, but it only tells part of the story. Ditto for 4000 dpi from a 35mm negative using the Nikon Super Coolcan 5000 ED (I own both scanners). Resolution is only part of the equation and only one of the considerations when choosing a photographic medium.
