Feb 25th it snowed all day in Yosemite so I only took 5 photos that day (to paranoid about the non weather sealed lenses). The 26th was much better but as I headed to Tunnel View another snow storm came in. I waited in my car with my wife from 4:00pm until about 5pm. Once the storm started to clear I hoped out and setup. This was taken about 15 minutes after it stopped snowing at Tunnel View.

Thanks for posting. Putting that 645D to good use, I see. Our weather on the NJ shore has been BLAH, except for a few very good sunsets. We are bayfront, and I collect skys for future montage. I have quite a few from the 645D. An example of a sky/forground montage is here:

beautiful; sure you're not trying to pass off some 4x5 frame?

Thank you both. The 645D files are awsome. Biggest print I have made is 24"x32", as my printer's max paper size is 24" wide.

Lovely, my favorite place, even got married up near Glacier Point. I do think, however, that viewing pictures in this section should come with a warning. Possibly something like "Warning APS-C format users, viewing images in this section may affect your enthusiasm for your camera."

LOL thats funny. My wife brought our 5D MKII along and she took a similar picture. I love the 5d mkii but it is no where close on detail and corner sharpness. While people here complain that the 45-85 is weak on the corners its lightyears beyond canons zoom lenses.

Yes this was shot with the fa 45-85mm at 70mm. I didn't upload a full resolution shot. The image is also compressed a bit so you won't see a ton of detail when you click on the high res version.

I did many 45mm shots while at Yosemite, I just haven't gone through all my images. What I have seen at 45mm looks awesome. I just wish I had something wider. I may try to find a 35mm because as of right now I cannot afford the new wide angle from Pentax. If it were 2-3k I would be all over it!

Although the AF version of the 35mm lens is supposed to be superior to the MF version, I have the MF version, and for my purposes it is wonderful. I usually manually focus about one third the distance into the scene, stop down to f13 or 16, and shoot. I will post a recent shot made with the 35mm MF lens.

As promised, here is a shot made with the MF 35mm f3.5 lens. You can't tell much from this small file print. I made and framed a 17"x23" print, and it is very sharp in my eyes. I am sure, perhaps not as good as the AF version, (try to find one). If you see a reasonably priced 35mm MF, I would jump on it. I think I paid about $500 used several months ago.

Gurtch, beautiful shot. I am editing a photo of halfdome I took at sunset Sunday. I will post it soon, my only issue is getting the color correct....I am colorblind so I am doing my best to get it right.
