I've used my Pentax 67 with lenses up to the 300mm EDIF on both a Berlebach 3042 (2 section legs, leveling ball, no center column) and the Bogen 3036 with 3047 head and most recently, both with the Bogen 3039 Super Pro head (nice!). Both setups are more than enough for the P67 with the 300mm lens. I wouldn't want to hike very far with either of these tripods however. If you want to carry the gear very far, I'd suggest you get a heavy duty carbon fiber tripod instead.

Yes, the 3046 legs are overkill as well, even tho they are actually a bit lighter than the 3036 legs.
