Correct! The DK-2 stretches - rather easily - over the "naked" eyepiece which is exposed when either Pentax eyecup is removed. The eyecup as "mounted" looks just fine and works well.

I have received my 645D eyecup for my 645N from Japan (ebay).
And it works well !
It seems that 645, 645N, 645NII and 645D have the same viewfinder... Thank you Pentax !

Does this hinder the film insert in any way, or any more than the original large flat eye piece? thanks

Yes a little bit, but as it is flexible, you can push it up when you close the film holder.
There is really no problem that it will popping off, if you use the screwing ring inside the original eye piece !

It's such an enhancement over the old one ! Even if you won't wear glasses !
