645D Snowboard Shoot

Hey all,

I just shot this video the other day, and thought you might be interested. It has Ryan HK, a very respected snowboard photographer, shooting promo shots with a 645D. He really loves the resolution and continuous AF compared to his Hasselblad. Take a look here:

Really interesting video. I haven§t thought this could be practical assignment for a 645D

Nice video. I'm surprised the photographer was not using a lens hood on that 300mm. It certainly doesn't hurt.

The photographer might not have had the hood to use. The camera was not his (supplied by the store doing the video) and he had not used the 645D before (he normally shoots a Hassy with Phase One back). Pretty good, all-in-all though, to be able to pick up a camera cold and produce those kind of results is impressive.

As Steve stated, Ryan did not have access to a hood for the 300. One was not available for that particular lens, but the flare control was excellent for such an old design.

Man, I wish I could find a copy of the 300mm. 200mm is my longest lens right now

Pentax SMC coating from the 70's and onwards has not been surpassed; old or not.
