I am in awe - truly amazing work. Now I have to save up to buy one. In the meantime, I have to console myself by shooting film on my Pentax 645.

Great comments on the camera. 80MP? I hope not, especially with 4 second reveiw times now (which is too slow).

You should submit some or all of these wonderful images to the PEG. PentaxForums Exclusive Gallery - Pentax User Photo Gallery

Great images!

4 sec. delay

Fujitsu just started selling engineering-samples of the next generation controller.
How knows, there might be a "645Ds" in development.

white balance issue

Hi Harklee,
First thing your shots are great . keep up the good work. I have just joined the forum but have been shooting the 645 nii for as many years as it has been in production. Very fortunately saved all my lenses when the film days was imploded by digital.
So now just ordered the 645D.
You mentioned that the auto white balance on the camera was not up to standards. How successful has the manual or custom white balance settings been in this case?

Thanks in advance for your reply

Bob

I found the AWB in my 645D is fine--I switch to presets in cases like sunsets and fires. If you are shooting in RAW, it is rather a moot point.

Seeing the photos posted here has caused my wife to enthusiastically agree that I need a 645D. Now I just gotta come up with $10K and I'm all set!

I'm trying the same... I'm thinking about organ harvesting for a awhile... less homeless, more "doners" win win right? Apparently I was informed this is unethical and even illegal.. well maybe I need a new plan.

Even the K-5's ~2 second record to play is annoying to me!

Wonderful photos. I'm really impressed. I knew the 645D would be great, and your photos really prove that.

not sure if there is an update in the works here, as it would be interesting to hear about 25mm lens, but otherwise - great shots, and an interesting review.

My 645 D with the 35 and 120 macro is due in tomorrow. I find your amazing images have raised my already high excitement about the arrival. Truly inspiring photos.

Thank you all for the comments and my apologies for late update. I am currently working on the review of the D-FA 25mm lens and will post it in a few days. I still don't think I have got a chance to utilize the true potential of this lens (too bad it's a slow season for landscapes), but initial tests were promising. Thanks again and I will write back soon. : )

I'm sure Harklee could take my old Kodak 1.8Mp point and shoot crank out shots that would make us want to downgrade our gear too!
