Of course it will be good to compare with the other digital medium formats. I will be happy to do that review when I get the money to buy all of those things. Pentax 645d is designed for landscape shooters, and for those who care about the print quality, 50MP is never enough. Why do you think people still use 8X10 view cameras?

because a 8x10 camera = 8x10 sensor

I use 8X10 format and I can attest that although current 80Mp digital medium format back can come close to providing the same level of detail rendering the sensor on those MF back is significantly smaller than that of an 8X10 camera therefore the final image will be rendered quite differently.

On 8X10 f22 is typically the working aperture for many common lenses for that format, however f22 gives equivalent DOF to f/8~f/11 on 645. To get the equivalent DOF as f/16 on 24X36mm film, on 8X10 you have to use f/64 - and live with the diffraction. Diffraction is something we are going to have to live with, Until we have access to superlenses.

not only superlenses, with very small pixels diffraction appears at f/8 or f/11
there is no needs for many photographers to get 80 mp

I have the 645 135mm LS and it works perfectly with the 645D. When the lens is mounted, the top LCD displays "LS".

Page 27 of the English 645D manual describes the use of LS lenses.

in the studio I suspect the leica with it's leaf shutter* and wider aperture lenses would be a more compelling choice
...
*I am aware pentax makes a 75mm f/2.8 and 135mm f/4 leaf shutter lenses but everyone I know seems to be in the dark about their functionality with the 645D. The consensus is that they do not work, though personally I cannot see why they wouldn't work.

Not sure why it's so important to have LS in the studio since you can control the lighting. I'd find it useful outdoors when you do the "overpower the sun" trick, but that's mainly it IMHO.

And the Pentax LS lenses do work on the 645D...confirmed by a few people already...

that's the idea kenyee, I do a fair bit of strobist portraiture work so the 1/500th synch speed is something that even my canon and nikon DSLR cameras cannot achieve without using HSS - and it also means I don't have to live with reduced output from the flash units because of HSS
