Red-Headed mergansers with the 645D

Likely not most people's choice for bird photography, but it's what I had and the 645D did quite well. Last one is a Coot. All with 400mm f/5.6.
Correction: red breasted merganser not red headed

Nice Thomas! Always great to see examples of the 645D being used for things other than what many use it for...landscapes. That's my intent for the 645D and it will eventually find its way into some wildlife shooting.. It obviously takes some additional work and skill over a fast sshooting/handling DSLR, but when one nails the shot, the rewards can be that much greater.

Thanks Dave. It's a real testament to Pentax's design philosophy that their cameras are usable for many applications. A tradtion continued from their film MF cameras (who else had an 800mm lens for a 67 camera? )
