New medium format user: is the pink edge to the frame usual?

I bought the 645D recently in Tokyo, and love the camera, the definition is fantastic and although it took a while to get used to certain things, I am getting on pretty well with the camera. My only issue is that after I have processed the image in Aperture there is a pink edge on the frame when I look at it at 100%. Is this normal? I can always crop around it, but that would be a pain. I haven't printed any yet but will soon as I have a Canon A3+ printer that prints very well.

Also to save opening a new thread, with the 645D, I know from my loitering on here that I can us 67 lenses with an adaptor, can I use non Pentax 645 lenses (I saw Mamiya 645 with seiko glass in Tokyo - I travel to Tokyo 3-4 times a year) or is it just Pentax 645 I can use? It's a great forum and have used it to help me with my new toy. My wife's words when I got home - not ANOTHER new electronic toy?

No, the pink edge is not normal--I see nothing like that with Adobe Camera RAW. Can you post an image of the line? It might identify the cause.

If you can find a Mamiya 645 to Pentax 645 adapter, you can use the lenses. There will be no automatic control of the lens aperture. As far as I know, only a Hasselblad adapter is available for the Pentax 645 cameras--still no automatic aperture control so it is stop-down metering which makes the viewfinder dark.

Apparently, your wife had not seen the credit card bill...

Welcome.

Thanks for the response and the welcome. I'll try and figure out the posting format required here, but hopefully it's just an aperture software thing. I have just upgraded my mac to the latest macbook pro with the i7 quad core and have moved my CS4 and lightroom 2 over from my old laptop, so hopefully that might resolve it.

Just learned my lesson. I imported some images I took earlier and no pink edges when I used Lightroom to import the .DNG files. Must be something that Aperture is doing, that'll teach me to use a cheap Apple app rather than Lightroom, which has handled it better. I have moved a file from Aperture to LR an the pink edges are still there but not when images are loaded directly to LR from the SD card. I have no back up of the shots I took as I auto deleted them when I used Aperture to open them...

As far as I know there adapters to Pentax 645 cameras (flange distance (FD) 70.87 mm) from these lens systems
_ PentaconSix [P6] (also Exakta66, Kiev60, late Kiev80, Praktisix) lenses FD 74.10mm
_ Hasselblad V lenses FD 74.90mm
_ Pentax 67 lenses FD 84.95mm
Possible but IMHO not realized are adapters from Rollei 66, Mamiya RB67, RZ67, Bronica.
Not possible are those from Rollei SLX (FD 74.00mm) because the lack of f-stop regulation.

Cameras like Contax 645 (FD 64.00mm), Hasselblad H, Leica S2 or Mamiya 645 (FD 63.30mm) have a flange distance which ist smaller than those of the Pentax645, adapted lenses from these systems would not be able to focus on infinite.
