Third Party Lenses for 645D

Hello

I was hoping to get everyone's help on creating a list of Third Party lenses that can be used with the new Pentax 645D.

I know that these can be used with an adapter:

1) Pentax 6x7 lenses (not "third party" but do require adapter)
2) Hasselblad V system lenses (needs adapter)
3) Hartblei

Please list the lenses you know will work with the 645D, even if they need an adapter. Sometimes the best lens for the job is not a Pentax lens. I think this list of altenative lenses may help everyone on this forum.

Thanks

There was a thread where the 645D user used Leica Visoflex lenses with an adapter. The Visoflex lenses cover a large enough circle to cover the 645D sensor. He posted examples, and they were quite nice. I also *THINK* some Russian medium format lenses can be used via adapter. I know of no third party lenses ever made to fit directly, but I could be wrong. With used Pentax manual focus lenses so inexpensive, I had no desire to look for third party, although I do own a 67-645 adapter.

Pentacon Practica Six (P6) mount lenses. There are some East German Carl Zeiss Jena which were quite a bargain. There were 45mm, 65mm, 120mm, 180mm, 200mm, 300mm. Stop down metering with a simple adapter.

I also use a P6 bellow when it is necessary with my 4X5 Macro Sironar. So indirectly using bellows many LF lenses will work once bellow draw and image circle is accounted for.

Two that I still use are:
Arsat 30mm full frame(6X6) fisheye. (only alternative is the Hassy C-mount)
Hartblei 45/3.5 Tilt/Shift.
These were purchases as P6 mount and I have my Pentax 645 lens mount adapter on them.

Another are the Leica mount Visoflex lenses. They will cover the image circle. There are Leica/Leitz optics as well as other. These tends to be older due to the development of the SLR.

As far as I know there adapters to Pentax 645 cameras (flange distance (FD) 70.87 mm) from these lens systems
_ PentaconSix [P6] (also Exakta66, Kiev60, late Kiev80, Praktisix) lenses FD 74.10mm . Major lens supplier for this system: VEB Carl Zeiss Jena, Schneider -Kreuznach, Arsenal (ukraine)
_ Hasselblad V lenses FD 74.90mm. Major lens supplier for this system: Carl Zeiss Oberkochen, Schneider-Kreuznach.
_ Pentax 67 lenses FD 84.95mm (Pentax)

Possible but IMHO not realized are adapters from Rollei 66, Mamiya RB67, RZ67, Bronica.

Not possible are those from Rollei SLX (FD 74.00mm) because the lack of f-stop regulation.

Cameras like Contax 645 (FD 64.00mm), Hasselblad H, Leica S2 or Mamiya 645 (FD 63.30mm) have a flange distance which ist smaller than those of the Pentax645, adapted lenses from these systems would not be able to focus on infinite.

Rollei SL66, RB/RZ67 and early Bronica are theoretically possible but require some kind of focusing helicoid.

Bronica SA and GS are possible but I have never heard of any, have you?

I agree that lenses with electronic control from camera should not be considered due to lack of aperture control.

I think a Hassy 1000 to P645 might be possible.

Yeah IMHO it is possible. Hassi 1600 has "the same" mount as the original Kiev (what a wonder the Kiev is a copy of the Hassi 1600 ) There are ukrainian adapters from Kiev to P6, and than you need an adapter P6 to P645. But I think the old Hasselblad 1600 lenses are more collectors items (and IMHO more expensive than the the Hasslblad V lenses) so the case would be very rare.
