PENTAX 645 Adapters (what is available)

Hello

What MEDIUM FORMAT camera systems can the Pentax 645 lenses be attached to via third party adapters?

Also, who are the better quality adapter manufacturers?

Thanks

As far as understand you, you want to use P645 lenses on a different MF camera system?
Theoretical you can adapt and focus to infinity P645 lenses to all cameras which have a lower flange distance than the Pentax 645 system (= 70.87 mm)
e.g
Mamiya 645 63.3mm
Contax 645 mm 64mm
Leica S2 ca 52mm
Hasselblad H (but _not_ V !)

But I personaly doubt that there are commerical made adapters (perhaps P645 lenses to Mamiya 645 ).

Is there a "commercial" Pentax 645 to Mamiya 645 adapter? If so, where can I find one?

I don´t know a source - but Mamiya 645 is a widespread system and there are a lot of adapters to Mamiya 645. Best would be to ask Herrn Zörkendörfer [Zoerk] in Munich

They all seem to adapt lenses to the Pentax 645 system. There is no mention of adapters that adapt Pentax 645 to other MF systems.

I really would like to find an adapters that let me use Pentax 645 lenses on other Medium Format systems.

In this electronic age it is no longer just physically fitting a lens onto another make.

Flange to film-plane distance is one physical factor, another is the mount diameter.

Some MF camera need shutter in the lens.

There might be electronic controls issues; ie the circuit in the lens is part of the control circuit.

It is IMHO not electronic or f-stop control question. You can use your f-stop at Mamiya645 and Contax645 the old fashioned way
The "problem" is IMHO an other.
_ Pentax 645 is - at least in Europe- not a wide spread medium format system.
I suggest there are much more Pentax 67 than Pentax 645 in use.
Nobody would offer such a niche prodduct. There are more adapter from Pentax 67 which is more common.
_ The knowledge of the quality of Pentax 645 lenses is _not_ widespread.
_ The Pentax 645 system was still mid 2010 "like" dead. But no other MF manufacturer (like Mamiya) tried to pull Pentax 645 users on their ship.
Many other adapters like Hassi to Mamiya645, Hassi to Contax645, or future Hassi to Leica S2 are only offered for this purpose.

But back to the core: did you ask Zörk ? I don´t believe you´ll find an adapter from the drawer - but ask if they can make one for you.
