Orange streak on 645d files

Everything has been going well with my 645d trying to put it through its paces in my normal photographic playground of the English Lake District and suddenly through the latter part of the day an orange part of the frame appeared. I bought my camera while I was in Japan so this will make interesting discussion with Pentax's nominated repair people which will result in me paying out money. It is a public holiday weekend here so will take a while to sort this is what it looks like

It is worse in bigger contrasts and appears on both SD cards (1 a 64GB XC) and in both slots and in RAW and jpeg. I have updated to latest update, am charging the battery and seeing if reinstalling the update will change anything. I reset the settings also which changed nothing. Stupidly I didn't bring my Canon 5D Mk II with me so will have to take a 500 mile round trip to pick that up

No idea. Lets us know what Pentax says and if they charge--my 645D is from Japan as well.

Have you tried a normal HC card? I wonder if the XC may be to blame? I have fairly mundane 16GB HC cards and have had no issues.

I swapped the cards around and still the same - the other being a 32GB HC

Tried the last update but it dies nothing. Is there a way of doing a 'hard' reset to see if it is software based fault?

this looks like a problem with the sensor, not the memory cards, or firmware.

That's what I suspected from the moment it happened. Was hoping against hope it was something simpler to resolve

Hope doesn't take the pets for a walk, nor does it keep your bank account balanced....I would get that camera checked out ASAP.I had a similar issue with my Leica M8 when I first bought one...had a magenta band running through the bottom 1/4th of the frame, Kodak sensors have more than their fare share of issues like this.

Yes I know. Have left a message for the UK service centre which is outsourced, but it's a holiday weekend so don't know how long it will take to hear back. have also emailed a contact in Japan who might be able to speak to Pentax there. As bought in Tokyo, it will most likely cost me money

From what I understand, the most you will pay is for shipping to (and maybe from) Japan.

I reported something similar a month ago or so, the difference is my issue is a blue/cyan streak on the right side. I sent the camera in for repair a month ago, but I haven't heard anything from Pentax yet.

Did they give you a loaner? I have a Canon 5D mkII I can use, and as great a camera it is I wanted to spend the next week exploring the Pentax

No, Pentax didn't offer a loaner. They only said that it had to be sent to Japan for repair.

Hope yours is sorted soon. Such a great camera I hate it being a very expensive paperweight!

Скажите пожалуйста - когда появилась проблема? Сразу или после тысячи фотографий?
Как давно вы купили камеру?
Спасибо.
