Pentax 6x7 105mm F2.4 lens on a Pentax 645?

Hi folks,

I saw someone do it for the Pentax 645D, but I'd like to see what people think and see what images look like for this setup for putting the 67 105MM F2.4 lens on a Pentax 645 (film)?

Sounds like I'd be getting a "slightly faster" and "slightly longer" normal lens (sometimes I find the 75mm F2.8 a bit short, but the next step up would be 150mm F3.5 ... the 120mm F4 Macro would be too slow).

I haven't tried, but it should work fine. Don't forget the 67 90/2.8 if you only want a slightly longer lens!

Yeah, but the size is in fact very similar. The 105 is like ~10 mm longer and 105 grams more, and that's all. An other, perhaps more important difference, is the close range limit. The 90 goes down to 0.65 meters while the 105 stops at 1.0 meters.

In my opinion, the 105/2.4 is a better lens. But the 90 is sharper and if 90 is a more suitable focal length, I'd choose it instead for the 645 format.

Also nice: the 100mm macro. You can get as close as you want and it's tack sharp on my 645D. I love this lens.

The 90mm F2.8 sounds like a good lens... hmm... would love to see some shots taken with it.
I'm thinking the 105 F2.4 just to get that extra 0.6 F-stop wider aperture... lol.

Thanks! Those are great shots!
I guess a 645 would crop those images slightly.

Thanks. Given a 105mm on a 645 is about equivalent to a portrait 85mm in 135 format, yes, you would have a mild telephoto.

Um, definitely more than "slightly". 55x70 mm versus 33x44 is a huge difference.
