Hi All ,

I'm looking into the 645d , predominantly for aerials and air to air , and am wondering how easy it is to focus using manual lens ?

I found a thread where the poster used a 67 55mm with excellent results , but he queried the use of 67 55-100 as a focus shift may occurr at different focal lenghts .

Any further info greatly appreciated

I found the 645d easy to manually focus thanks to its large and bright focusing screen. I used f/2.8 prime lenses and the f/4.5 80-160mm zoom.

The issue mentioned with the 6x7 55-100 lens is unrelated to the camera as such. That lens apparently shifts focus as you zoom which means that you have to refocus after zooming. Many lenses have that characteristic.

The image quality from the 645d is awesome, that alone could justify purchase. But if you need a high bust rate for your purpose then the 645d is not the right choice. It can shoot about 15 images at 1.5 frames/sec, then the buffer is full and it takes quite a while to write the buffer to the SD card. You can shoot while the buffer empties but only at a very low rate.

Sounds promising , I've only used primes on the 67 body so will stick with them .
Burst rate should'nt be an issue as I guess it takes me more than a second to crank the film wind and air to air is more about timing than machine gunning frames
