Pentax cameras have guarantees limited by country of purchase. Lenses have an international warranty.

Beautiful, beautiful photos. I love Bandon. That entire coast is wonderful to visit and photograph.

Here in Switzerland, Pentax cameras as well as lenses are sold with an international warranty. The 645D is however an exception as it is shipped with a warranty limited to Switzerland. It is also the case for the DFA645 25/4. Should I have a problem with it, I am supposed to send it to the seller in Taiwan, I am pretty sure I would be able to sort the things out with Pentax Switzerland as I am a pretty good customer. The question is however, would the service be able to fix a lens which will not be for sale here before spring 2012?

They'll just ship it to Japan would be my guess.

Yes, this is likely. I am not too worried, I submitted it to a pretty harsh test and it managed it well, I took it on a three weeks trip to Namibia (photos are under Northern Namibia 2011 Photo Gallery by Dominique Schreckling at pbase.com) and it had to survive the dusty and sandy conditions, without speaking about the temperatures (14°C in the night, 42°C during the day, in the shadow).

Given the harsh treatment i've seen some of the apsc pentax kit subjected to it would be a low level worry. Some excellent shot's on the link BTW Dominique
