Custom eyecup finished-pics.

After work I machined the little ring I needed.

The black piece is part of the Pentax large eyecup. I cut away some rubber to get it out. The stainless steel ring is the part I made. The marks on it are from polishing the sharp edges with a Dremel tool. After the amazing goop dried, I scraped the excess glue off the stainless ring with an xacto knife.

Then added the Nikon DK-2 eyecup. I got the dimensions of the ring just right and the Nikon cup fits on nice and tight. You don't need to remove it to change inserts-just fold the bottom of it out of the way. A coin is no longer needed to remove or install the eyepiece. The black metal ring would probably scratch someone's glasses, but fortunately I don't wear any. It does not look perfect, but helps alot.

Yesterday I shot a roll of B&W film. Focusing was much easier with the Nikon eyecup.

That's awesome! I run into the same problem shooting my 645NII, can never see the meter reading in bright light. The Pentax eye cup is more of a head rest than anything else. Do you plan on manufacturing a few of these for sale?

Yes, do you plan on offering any for sale? I'd get a couple for myself and likely another as a gift for a friend.

Hi. Yes I plan on making a few and selling. Maybe in the next week or 2 I'll make more rings and buy some parts to make them. But with the cost of the Pentax eyecups and the Nikon DK-2s, I'll have to ask about 30usd to be worth it.

Thanks for the tip, I ordered one and it installed easily. Much better than the useless flat genuine Pentax one!
