AC adapter for 645D?

Seems like this AC adapter for the 645D is out of stock everywhere (AC Adapter Kit D-AC50) - does anyone use this, or is there another way to power the camera with an external power source? Thanks!

Power adapter

I'm pretty sure that the power adapter for the 645d is the exact same one as for the K5 and the K10. Maybe those would be easier to obtain.

Thanks Jim - that is the one that is out of stock everywhere. If anyone has one for sale I'd love to hear about it...

Thanks Jim - yes, I have the adapter plug arriving tomorrow - just in time to do a long exposure of the meteor shower Wednesday morning. As luck would have it I already had the Canon AC adapter sitting in a drawer. I hope this works - seems too easy and too cheap but would be a nice surprise since they don't seem to want to sell any of the real ones...

The ABC products AC adaptor doesn't work. I have one coming from srsmicrosystems tomorrow - rip off Britain alive and well: The US pentax site has it on sale at $99.99. Uk price? £139.99 = $220! Outrageous!

The little adapter plug for the Canon AC adapter noted above was also a bust - it arrived in three pieces and when assembled it doesn't work. I did some long exposures last night with the 645 on battery and the files are just wonderful, so I'm looking forward to the day when I can do 2-3 hour long exposures with an AC adapter if they ever come into stock in the US...(OR if someone here has one for sale!)

My very expensive adaptor arrived this morning and I went to a store called maplims and got a 2x 6v 5AH power pack which has a 240v plug terminal on it. It has a 25 hr charge time on it, don't know exactly how long I'll be able to run the 645D off it, but hopefully at least a few hours. There were 40AH ones around by those are 18kg and this one fraction of that so can put it in my backpack....

Glad to hear you got one! (The US Pentax store has not had any in stock in a while and don't know when they will get any more.) I've got an external battery power pack that ran a 12-hour exposure on a Nikon recently, and probably could have gone even longer but 12 hours of darkness was plenty - it is pretty heavy though. I did a one hour exposure on the 645D camera battery last night (total time two hours) and the battery showed 3/4 power left so it looks like I can get a two-hour exposure done without having to use an external battery pack - that is great since these AC adapters don't seem to exist in the US right now. I could use 4-6 hours of exposure though (8-12 hours) so am hoping the adapters show up before it gets too warm to shoot where I live...

I wish i could get mine to do an hour and the compulsory NR shot after without running out of battery. Mine goes from 3 bars straight to 1, and then flashes.

I was a little surprised it lasted that long and still showed so much left in the tank (I continued to use the battery today and it still shows 3/4 charge). I'm going to try a two-hour exposure tonight with a different battery. These are new batteries.

My 645 would not complete a two-hour exposure last night. It made it through the exposure just fine (and still showed full bars on the camera, which obviously was inaccurate), but the battery died sometime during the dark-slide exposure. The temp for my one-hour exposure that did work fine was about 35 degrees F, and a warmer 45 degrees for the longer exposure attempt. So it looks like an AC adapter is the only way to get exposures in excess of an hour with this camera - unless it can be powered via USB? That would be too easy...
