6x7 Pentax to SONY a900

I want to adapt my 6x7 Pentax zooms to my SONY a900.

This company.. Z ...makes such a beast.

Machined in Germany and tested at the image plane for accurate back-focus and centering, and they are made of aircraft-grade anodized aluminum that will not abrade the camera mount. Aperture control is manual, metering is stop-down, though you can also use aperture priority AE.

They also have a beastly price on it .

The P67 adapter is $289, plus $89 for Sony T2 adapter (yes...both required) and shipping (standard UPS ground with insurance is $21.50)...Total is $399.50.
While that is a trifle in comparison to most any decent lens it does look "big" when compared to the couple of small rings in the package.

Anybody have one or used one...or even seen one??

I like that when advertisement says, "aircraft-grade" aluminum. Now what alloy and temper would that be, I wonder. The same alloy and temper used on airplanes? Well, surprise, a commercial airplane prior to the new carbon fiber used all kinds of aluminum and tempers. High yield strength and brittle to lower yield strength and ductile. Even basic 6000 series you can find in a hardware store for brush finished decorative trim pieces.

But back to your adapter. That is a lot of money to spend for what most consider a novelty of adapting MF lenses to 135 format. I suppose if a particular MF lens had some outstanding characteristic you wanted it would be worth it.

Not something I use/know precisely--but couldn't you use a Pentax 6x7 to k mount adapter, and then a K mount to Sony adapter?

The 67 to k adapter run from about $50.00-$140.00 depending on who makes it.

I wonder if that is essentially what they are offering? They have a 6x7 adapter that then needs a "T2" Sony adapter...hmmm.

There are plenty of adapters for that application that don't require two stages and they cost much less. Here is one that looks pretty solid.
