stop ring binding

So i got the lens today. Very excited . Visually its in great shape. But upon further inspection the iris ring is completely bound up and locked at f45. Mind you the iris leaves are operating fine, and easy to open and close with my finger via the stop down lever on the rear of the mount.
At first the iris ring was smooth and clicking on the stops normally when moving from 6.7 to 45 ,but it would bind mildly on the way back to 6.7. Now its just stuck.
All the pentax iris rings for all the lenses work similiar to each other. Does anyone here have experience with this binding and the fix?

Thanks, 672

672,
Is this the lens from ebay? Sorry to hear about the stuck aperture. With any vintage lens, especially an exotic like this, where the service history is unknown, it's a good idea to send it for a thorough CLA. I sent mine to Bob Watkins at Precision camera repair in Chicago and he did a great job. CrisCam in Arizona is the official Pentax authorized repair center. The Pentax Repair facility in Colorado( if still open) no longer works on MF film gear.
Good luck, keep us posted.

love it !!!

645D got too wet (yes, too wet) in sequoia forest with snow falling from above and full sunlight. So, this sample had to be shot with back up camera, but i believe still qualifies for this forum due to being a 67 lens. No color fringing ever !!! I need better (heavier?) tripod and head though.

Hopefully you keep posting pictures from the lens, it looks like it would be fun to have!! What was the damage for the repairs?

Thats nice when the sellers do that! I cannot believe how much those long lens packs cost, way too much, but you have to have something for it.
