I have had problems finding a suitable electronic shutter release. Does anyone have any information on the best brand to use?

Hi, did you not get the little IR remote one with your camera? i find it works great, it floats and its waterproof What features do you require? Ebay has the China versions which are cable, they seem to have a lot of features.

I got this one Pentax Waterproof Infrared Remote Control 39892 B&H Photo Video

I put a lanyard on it and wear it around my neck...so I don't drop it in the water and have it float away. It's great for a simple shutter release. If you're looking for something for doing longer pre-programmed exposures, then maybe one of the shutterboss models would be better. I'm not sure which one to get for the Pentax, but I had one for my Canon 5D mk II and it worked great.

Thanks guys for the feedback. I did not have a remote release included with the 645D. I will read the manual before I go any further with this to see what Pentax reccommends. I tried a Pentax reccommended one but it did not work, I hope I dont have a short circuit in the camera. The release I had first was working fine then went all to hell.

I bought the Pentax waterproof remote. I also hang it around my neck. It is a great remote for the camera.

When I got it I was surprised that you cant change the battery, you use it 50,000 (I think) then get another one!
