Pentax 67 Prism Diopter

Hey all. Finally pieced together my Pentax 67 kit and immediately noticed one major issue: because I wear glasses I was not able to see the whole viewfinder -- in fact my view was very much cropped. However, because the 67 TTL Prism doesn't have an adjustable diopter I could not see well enough through the prism without my glasses on. So after doing some research on this forum and other places, I decided to take out the glass/ring and bring it to my optometrist to see if they could make a prescription diopter for me. Turns out they are going to do it (though it will cost about $65). My prescription is actually -1.75 FYI -- and yes I hate wearing contacts. Anyway I will update here when I get the glass in and report on how well this worked.

Anyone else have a similar experience, and if so what was your solution?

I bought a Pentax diopter for a lot less than that, but I don't know how easily available they are now.

Yeah I did not have much luck finding one. Seems most diopters out there for the 67/6x7 prism are for farsighted people.

You could try a Pentax 67 Right Angle Finder. It has a diopter adjustment of +3 to -5 and is easy to find, though a bit pricey.

A Nikon F3 / F3HP dioptric correction lens will fit the Pentax 67. I have proven this, but it was not the correct dioptre for me, which I think is +2. I saw that some of the he Nikon lenses had a rubber surround, which is an improvement over the Pentax knurled thingy.
