Nice score. At one time I had that lens on my radar. But it was a matter of time waiting for one to appear and I kind of stopped looking.

There is still one more at KEH......EX condition for $569. I had given up looking too and then someone mentioned it in a recent post, so I checked KEH and there they were! It's very unusual for them to have any of these lenses in stock.

KEH also had the life size converter listed separately, but I wasn't sure I would use it......hesitated for two days and now it's gone.

My first shots with this lens will probably be with it mounted on my Nikon D800E.....but I'll try to post some images here with it on my P67II ASAP.

Just ordered my first P645 FA lens from KEH........the 45-85mm in EX+ condition (with caps and hood).

I think that just about completes my Pentax 645 system. I now have the 35, 75, 80-160, 120 macro and 200mm SMCP-A lenses and soon this 45-85 FA lens. I also have the Pentax 67=>645 adapter, so I will also be able to use my P67 lenses (including the 75 shift and 300 EDIF) lenses on the 645NII.

The temptation to buy a 645D increases every day.

Gary

Some of those lenses will perform very nicely indeed on a 645D Gary! The 35A, the 120 (A or FA) the 45-85 FA and the 6x7 300 EDIF you mention are all lenses I can vouch for personally on the 645D.

Hi Ed. I still look at your image of the green steam locomotive pulling a line of wooden passenger cars which you shot with the 645D and the 55mm lens and think.....wow! You graciously shared a full res image file on the GetDPI forum and I made a 11x14 print of it, which is hanging on my home office wall. It has kept me thinking about the 645D ever since!

I initially bought a 645NII and a couple of 645 A lenses, with the hope that someday, I would pick up a 645D.....that's my long term plan anyways. With all I had invested in a Pentax 67 system over many years, this makes a lot of sense to me, as I believe many of the Pentax 67 lenses will perform pretty well on the 645D. Of course, along the way I've been distracted (and bought into) other medium format systems as well (for different reasons), but I've still got my eye on a 645D. Bit by bit, it's all coming together......and someday it will culminate in the purchase of a 645D.

I've really enjoyed seeing the many outstanding 645D images posted here on the Pentax MF forum. I can't wait to join the club.....but in the meantime, I'll enjoy using the Pentax MF film cameras I own. They are certainly excellent cameras in their own right.

Nice lens collection! The only P645 lens I'm still lusting after is the 35mm.
As for getting the 645D, at this point in the game wouldn't you want to wait and see what comes next? Just imagine if you spend your money on the D and then they release the FF version... And even if they don't I would imagine that whatever model they do release next will be a significant improvement over the D given the rate at which digital tech is advancing.

For my use the film version is all I'll ever want. I just love my 645n, mostly because it isn't digital and provides me with the joy of film photography in an age when I spend most of my time with a DSLR.

Hi revdocjim. I enjoy shooting film with my 645NII also, but I would still like to have the option of using my P645 and P67 lenses on a digital MF Pentax. I can just imagine using all that Pentax glass in the best of both worlds!

Unless I come across a terrific deal on a used 645D, it's not in my near term plans. It sure would be nice to see a FF 645D in the future. That is probably the single thing that keeps me from using my Hasselblad CFV-16 digital back more often than not......the 1.5x crop factor.

In the meantime, I'm waiting to see how the Plustek Optic 120 film scanner looks, when it's finally released. Seems like it's been delayed again.

Gary (still deep in the weeds of MF film systems)
P645NII, P67x2 and P67II, Hasselblad 501CM, 553ELX, 503Cxi, 503CWx2, Mamiya 7II, RZ67 ProII, C220 TLR and a Rolleicord V TLR
