A good, honest review. But I would take a bit of exception to one conclusion - the comments about 645D noise at ISO 1600 vs that of the D800E. The reality is that the slightly higher noise level of the 645D at that setting is easily dealt with in ACR 4.0+ without creating any degradation of image quality. If you look at a graphic representation of the two cameras on DXOMark (
DxOMark - Compare cameras side by side) you 'll see there is only about 1.5 db of difference in signal/noise performance, essentially inconsequential. I've done night sky shots with both bodies and the difference is minimal although the dark frame exposure requirement of the 645D on exposures longer than 30 seconds is a pain.
Where the Nikon's SONY sensor really shines is in dynamic range. Fortunately, the KODAK sensor is what MF photographers describe as malleable. It is possible to underexpose to prevent highlight blow out and then use the Shadows/Fill, Highlights sliders in ACR to effectively recover the image without introducing undue shadow noise.
