There are two options in category #37:
"Mode 1: Activates SR at the moment of capture only (uses less power)
Mode 2: Activates SR while pressing the shutter release button halfway (uses more power)"

As you can see - no any word about confirmation in the viewfinder...
I expected something like "little palm" as in the ordinary Pentax DSLR with sensor stabilization,
but I see NOTHING in the viewfinder, only hear some noise into the lens,
and of course - I really dont know if shake reduction have ended it job or not yet.

Latest firmware is 1.30
Of course, I had installed it BEFORE attaching the lens.

May be you confuse shake reduction confirmation
with focus confirmation or exposure lock or electonic level in the viewfinder?
What do you really see in the viewfinder as a confirmation of shake reduction working?

May be you mean not a "confirmation icon" but picture in the viewfinder itself
(as a result that shake reduction have ended it job):
when choosing Mode 2 - picture in the viewfinder is really little bit more stable than in Mode 1...

Yes, please! It will be very interesting to know about other people's experience about this lens.

shake reduction

i shot some tests with a 90mm today and have quickly looked at them on computer. in awe of shake reduction.......looks acceptable down to 1/13 of a second.....i though maybe 1/50th would work , but am quite surprised at the results as low as 1/13. in fact wish i had kept going down to 1/6 but was "sure" i had made it fail at 1/13. this image is 100 percent crop of larger image.

in my own tests i found 1/15th better than 1/30th for stabilization.. dunno..

probably because you just ended up shaking a little more on that exposure than the other...hard to come up with conclusive results unless you shoot a whole bunch of test images and average them, as each image will vary depending on how much you're moving while taking the exposures.

I almost decided to buy the 90mm macro but decided against it. Its just too dang expensive. The SR is a great feature and the lens should double as a great portrait lens on the 645D but for macros I use manual focus, tripod and more working distance is preferred. So I decided to get a used 120mm macro A lens instead for the macros and a 75mm f2.8 FA for portraits (where ultimate sharpness is not a huge priority for me) all for a fraction of the price.

With the 25mm there is no choice if you want/need a lens that wide. That I might get after I use the 645d a bit.
