What Silent Streets says here I can confirm in my very recent dealings with a 6x7 body. I had a very old 6x7 body that I purchased here on the forum, originally described as "fully working but needs a CLA" condition. I discovered multiple items were wrong with it, including issues with film transport, bulb and possible electrical issues. The original seller made good with a partial refund, and I sent the camera in to Eric. He just reported back the camera was "a real mess" and even worse than originally thought. He told me to junk it and start over with a whole new body.
Upshot: No matter how you cut it, these 67s are very complex and very OLD cameras that are prone to a whole lot of issues due to age or moderate abuse. Fixing up an old 6x7 beater will probably NEVER make sense, as you can easily spend $300+ making a rough one roadworthy. Never buy one of these without a return agreement, as there are many possible "intermittent" type of problems that can appear on these cameras that never surface when the seller is checking it out. And I personally will skip 6x7 bodies and go directly to 67 or later models. Or skip 67 all together and go with a known-reliable 645 or 645II system. There's just too much to go wrong on these cameras to pick up an early 1970s unit and think they'll work without issue.
