67: Defect-open shutter....sometimes

Hello

Sometimes I observed following defect:
- Pre-release of the mirrow
- Release of the shutter with 1/2 or 1/4 second
- Shutter stays open - no reaction on any activity (reset button etc.) - taking of the lens shows the film
- Shutter only closed after battery removal

Sometimes everithing works fine, sometimes not
Defect only after pre-release of the mirrow

Does anybody have similar experiences or an idea?

How about a few questions?

So, how many rolls of film has gone through it since it was last serviced?
How many seasons since its last been serviced?
Any times in the rain or in high humidity?
Any drops, bumps, thumps?
Have you been using long exposures a lot?

The shutter brake is a critical adjustment... have you noticed any over exposures?

Yes... sbjornda... the contact switches are possible.

Intermittent operation could mean extreme cold as well.

If you are looking to venture inside the camera body, keep in mind that the side plate to the mirror cage is secured underneath the covering as well as the inside of the prism dock area.
