If it's completely dead I guess 1-2 hours.

The light turned bad during sunset and an atmospheric haze from humidity and the sea rolled in so images were a no go but I shot a few at night and tested the AF in interior horrible light in my apt at iso 1600. Preliminary impressions. Long exposure noise is a non issue. At 30 sec. its pretty much like the latest top end DSLRs. The AF works amazingly well. Awesome really. The camera handles very nice also. Its easy to handhold and shoot at ridiculously slow shutter speeds.

blindingly obvious which one is from the 5DMKIII, though in terms of resolution the EF 40mm f/2.8 STM perhaps would have been a better choice than the EF 50mm f/1.2L. The EF 40mm f/2.8 STM has considerably Higher resolving power- and is much more consistent in performance across the frame than the 50 f/1.2L @ f/11, though the lack of a Bayer AA filter also puts the 645D ahead noticeably. Resolution aside the dynamic range still gives the 5DMKIII away, the bigger sensels of the 645D certainly has the advantage there.

Wooo...that a nice and clear difference. The 645D image looks so much cleaner.
Any chance you could put up an exposure longer than 30 seconds? I'm really into longer exposures and that has been one of the issues that has been hard to nail down. From what I have gathered it looks like the 645d will do just fine, but it would be nice to see some examples.

I have some shots using 30sec exposures and they are very clean. Basically a touch better as what you would get with the Canon. One thing I have noticed is that the Pentax has better blue color. Deeper and cleaner blues I think. The color from the CCD sensor is MUCH different than with any CMOS. Way different.

I would love to see them if you get a chance, please post.

Deeper cleaner blue is really good to know. I know that when I start to work with my canon files the sky gives me some noise issues when pushed.

The Canon's always put way too much of a magenta cast onto the image. It makes some images look good, but overall the Pentax is much more natural and punchy straight out of camera.

One recommendation I wish I would have had...make sure to ocassionally check the rubber eyepiece for the viewfinder and the little threaded washer that holds it in place from time to time. I lost mine pretty early on and can't seem to find where to get a replacement...not even from Pentax when I called them about it. Over time it tends to come loose, several others have also lost their eye pieces due to this.
I have the same problem with my 645n. I seem to remember that for my box a Nikon eyepiece will fit, D3 comes to mind. Of course, finding a brick and mortar shop with a good stock of gear to try one out is problematic!

Here is a shot I just made (before and after adjustments in LR4). 15 second exposure (iso 100, 55mm DFA @ f11). It was windy and I used my small Gitzo tripod (GT1542T) but it still came out pretty sharp.

note: just saw the dust/hair particle on the sensor. Took care of it quickly with my visible dust sensor brush (arctic butterfly).
