Rubber Eyecup for 645D in stock anywhere?

I've lost maybe five or six rubber eyecups for my 645D. Everyone seems to be out of stock. Almost seems like a design issue.

Anyone have a source for eyecup replacement? Pentax 645D.

Thank you.

Here's the eyecup for sale at B&H: Pentax O-EC107 Large Eyecup for the 645D Camera 39897 B&H Photo

I've had the same problem...the threaded washer-like screw part came off and I lost one of my rubber eye pieces (body came with two different ones). I still have the larger eyepiece, but without the screw to hold it in I haven't put it back on. Nobody seems to have the screw from what I've gathered. Maybe try calling Pentax, though when I emailed them it didn't help any.

There is a design issue with that screw. Once you lose it, you're screwed. You put on a new eyecup and you lose it within a day.

FYI, the film 645 eyecups also fit the 645D.

What about the washer-shaped screw that keeps falling off? is that part unique to the 645D or the same on the 645 film bodies?

Does the O EC107 Eyecup designed for the 645D also fit the P645N? I had started a thread on the problem with the large flat eyecup for the P645N a while ago but can't recall if the 645D Eyecup above fits the P645N

Thanks

Ryan,

The threaded portion in the old eyecups is permanently attached, so it attaches without the threaded portion of the new version.

asahijock, it should, I've never tried. I did put an old eyecup on the 645D, but prefer the new one.

Yes it fits. But not to lose it, I used the internal screw of the flat eyecup...

I found the hard rubber version of the Pentax 645 eyecup. There is a little washer that unscrews, and mates onto the threaded part of the 645D. But the hard rubber version does not seem to want to go on to the 645D. There is a little tiny metal indexing pin, but the eyecup won't push onto the 645D body. Is there a trick to it? I ended up taking the washer, and just placing it over my old SOFT rubber eyecup version, but it's not perfect; not in any way. Crazy how this is so complicated, and crazy how everyone is out of stock.

As I recall the Nikon DK-19 rubber eyecup can also fit the 645D - the same eyecup also fits the Contax 645.
