Lee Filters with 645 A 35mm

Hi guys,

I have a A 35mm on the way, which has a 77mm filter thread and I am also ordering some Lee filters to add to my kit.

Is there anybody out there using Lee Filters with this combination that can shed some light on the following:

On a 645D with the 35mm A, can I use a Lee holder with 3 filter holder guides, plus a polariser on the front, on a 77mm wide angle adapter ring, without any nignetting?

Thanks, Scott

I'll have to check on this with my own setup but it can be done without issue, though I hardly ever use all three filter slots in one go.

I use the 35mm + 77mm adapter + polarizer adapter + polarizer + 2 filter holders. With this setup no problems. I never tried 3 filter holders. Hope this helps.

I can't speak for the Lee Filter Holder, but on my Cokin Z I've stacked a CPL plus three GND's without any issues...gotta remember the 35mm is made for full frame so you'd have to get pretty crazy with filters to cause any vignetting!

Just an update on this.

I received my kit and set up the Lee filter holder with 3 holder blades, 105mm circ pol on the front and a 77mm B+W standard UV filter on the lens.......

No Vignetting at all. Great news.

I have my kit almost fully assembled now. 645D, 35mm A, 55mm D FA, 90mm D FA Macro, 150mm FA. I am loving the system and the quality. A big change from my Leica M9 and Sony Nex6, but more challenging and rewarding.

All that is remaining now is the 25mm D FA, or 25mm DA, I can't decide. Most probably the D FA as it has a smaller shorter hood for making a custom filter holder work without vignetting.

Cheers, Scott

These lenses come with a built in filter holder plus a circular polariser and assorted ND filters. Personally I went for the D-FA version because full coverage of the 645 frame coverage may be needed in the distant future.
