I spent some time trying to determine this photographer's main purpose, but found it impussible...

I have a cat that loves photos, I wonder if they will buy me a 645D?

This photographer, "bazoka.tw", obviously likes cats and his/her photo stream shows it. Bazoka.tw also appears to do portraits and studio work, like this shot, or outdoors like this, and seems to be a full frame Sony a900 user.

My guess is bazoka.tw got a hold of a 645d on loan and only had the body, one lens, and enough time to shoot the models (cats) that were presently at arm's length. As of this writing the pictures are only FOUR HOURS old. Let's give the photographer another day or so with the camera before we ask for our cheezburgers.

Getting to use an awesome camera in terrible surroundings? Been there. I got to use a friend's son's Sony RX1, but I couldn't take it out of the 12x10 office I work in. I didn't even get to take it outside and shoot grass and flowers.

Bummer.

I don't see why it's anyone's business but the shooter re' what camera he's using. Some of the worst movies of all-time cost 100's of millions of $ and they probably got less ink than this poor soul and his 645D ;-)

Well the 645D is with the right lens (I guess the new 90mm lens is the best for it) an excelent catkiller!

Pentax deleted the comments on Facebook, then banned me from making comments on their Facebook page as result. Ricoh is doing their best to water down the Pentax brand, and 645D cat pics sure don't help either.

Facebbok is on the way to MySpace anyway.

The Page Manager is just a twit and Ricoh has nothing to do with it. Being assigned management of the Facebook page is marketing department banishment to the inner circle of Hades - like someone who escorted the Chairman's daughter to a dinner party given for the Emperor and then barfed on her shoes in the receiving line wearing a Ricoh nametag kind of banishment.

Well, the 645D does capture cats nicely. I wonder if cat image quality is a consideration for Pentax engineers. But I do have some questions about a cat-specific lens test.

1- what apurrture is best?
2- are catadioptric lenses the best?
3- should you use a compurr shutter?

If you search 645D on flickr, and select 'recent,' this is what you find.

I commend you cat photo photographer. You have round about $10,000 worth of photographic equipment, and a seemingly endless amount of cats to choose from. You picked the purrrfect tool for the job. This is exactly what you needed for this assignment. No other sensor could resolve those whiskers like a medium format digital CCD could.

Own it.
